(PERTTU KIVILAAKSO)
Bartolomeo never liked the idea of being born human; he had a relationship of love and hate with his extreme sensitivity. Tears always were there to tempt him with their momentary delight, the same ones which had the power to glow in the dark and which were the unquestionable gift of the Firefly Eyes tribe. While he was growing up he stayed with them, but as soon as he was old enough to clear off he did it without looking back. He thought that if he stayed away from the Firefly Eyes he would be away from the Kingdom of Tears as well. However, tears came even more frequently along his pilgrimage; lightened him with all their flashing glitter and heralded his way wherever he was going to.
Bartolomeo realized that he couldn't get rid from his roots nor from the suffer which they signified to him, but he still kept a weapon that would allow him to exorcize all his demons: the language that has no words.
That's how one day he came across Eino's writings on his way and could understand without any trouble the magnificent histories that he was telling. That's the way how Bartolomeo ‘Firefly Eyes’ arrived for the first time to the Forest of Mirrors.
